They Don't Care About Us.

09 May 2009It was billed as her big comeback gig at the annual Jazz festival in St Lucia, but fans of Amy Winehouse walked away disappointed.
During her hour-long set the singer forgot her words and seemed unstable on her feet - before eventually walking off stage mid-song.
Her spokesperson has blamed the weather and technical difficulties, but some members of the crowd were not happy with the performance she gave throughout.
It was disappointing, it is very sad to see, but she is obviously not fit to be on stage, said one spectator, Kathy who lives on the island.
I was hoping for better; its embarrassing.Wasted talent
At one point Winehouse told she crowd: Sorry, Im bored, as she started to sing During Some Unholy War, before changing her mind and attempting to perform Back to Black.Ben, a local resident, said her performance had been .He added: What a wasted talent. She is on a one-way road to destruction; its such a shame.Dressed in a pale blue mini-dress and with her beehive resurrected to its former glory, she opened with Know You Now.She was on a different planet- Amy Winehouse fan Natasha
However, the vocal soon began to falter and by the time she got to the second song, her infamous erratic behaviour was in full swing.
Taking her white platform shoes on and off several times during the gig, she bent over to reveal her underwear, causing the crowd to boo and to cheer.
As the singer launched into Tears Dry on Their Own, the heavens opened, and it was not long before the stage was plunged into darkness.
At one point Winehouse asked whether there had been a power cut.
Throughout her shaky version of Cupid, Winehouse kept forgetting the words and mumbling to herself.
Vulnerable and distracted
She was on a different planet, said British spectator Natasha.
Visibly swaying, and wandering off mid-song, Winehouse seemed vulnerable and distracted.
Her backing singers were forced to cover for her poor vocal efforts, carrying her - quite literally at one point - as she leaned on a male band member for assistance.
At one point Winehouse sat down on a speaker at the front of the stage and seemed to be staring into space, until she was prompted by her backing vocalist to get back up and continue.
Having heard she has been working on new material during her stay on the island, fans had expected to hear some new songs. However, Winehouse stuck to songs already known and mainly taken off her second album, Back to Black.Valerie was the final track Winehouse attempted, before walking off stage mid-way through the song to the confusion of her band, who were not sure if she would be returning to the stage.

The BBC reports:
US President Barack Obama has said the time has come for Iraqis to "take responsibility for their country".
Mr Obama was speaking during an unannounced trip to Baghdad, his first visit to the country as president.
He was greeted enthusiastically by US troops, whom he praised for their "extraordinary achievements" in Iraq.
Mr Obama also had talks with Iraq's leaders, and confirmed his plans to withdraw all US troops from Iraq by the end of 2011.
The president flew into Baghdad's international airport before travelling by road to meet Gen Ray Odierno, the US military commander in Iraq, and some of the 140,000 US soldiers serving in the country.

Is it wrong to think its epically funny to see your President doing some duck and cover to avoid flying Iraqi shoes? President George W. Bush was in the middle of a news conference with the Prime Minister of Iraq Sunday, when an Iraqi reporter took off his shoes at chucked them at W.
Luckily, Georgie-boy is still agile and spry and dodged both shoes as they hurled past his head. While the crazy-ass reporter was tossing his footwear at the freakin President of the United States he was screaming This is the end.
As it turns out, throwing a shoe in the Arab culture is a sign of disrespect. UmmmmI think throwing shoes at anyone in any culture is just a tiny bit disrespectful, dont you? If you threw your Uggs at your boss, wouldnt she fire your dumb ass?
Sounding more light-hearted than he has in a long time, W said after the attack, “I’m OKAll I can report is it is a size 10,” I bet he is counting down the days until he can blow that White House taco stand and get back to big livin in Texas.

Take this will a grain of salt, because this story comes from Star magazine. They dont actually have the best reputation with factual reporting, but I found this story kind of funny in that it could happen sort of way.
Kevin Federline has really tried to portray himself as this great father figure for his kids, someone that stays home and has his world revolving around them. Not so, according to Star, who claims that K-Fed loves to smoke pot and hangs out with hookers when his children arent around.
A family source reportedly said, Kevin loves his sons dearly, but he isnt always the model dad that he wants to appear to be. Another family snitch said, s been trying to pull the wool over everyones eyes! He acts like hes the father of the year, but hes far from it. Behind the scenes, hes a pot-smoking slacker who doesnt have a job but still goes out of town to party for days and leaves his boys in the care of their nanny, Jenny. Shes amazing, but sometimes its a lot for her to handle. Kevin loves smoking weed and spends hours getting high and playing video games with his buddies. He loves sexy hookers and regularly parties with them at his home in L.A.s not too far-fetched to call K-Fed a pothead, considering while he was still with Britney, it was said that she kicked him out because of his marijuana habit. Whether or not hes partying it up with hookers, remains to be seen, but this is the part that I doubt somewhat. Im sure there are chicks out there that would even hang out with this douchebag for free, Paris did it.

I am noticing my blogroll is gone (I was crying to the Hubs) and a bunch of other funky stuff is happening. I am hoping that it will be there when all the little elves are done working and sober up a little but as more hours pass I am beginning to doubt the elves.

The theme, “Restoring America’s Promise,“ highlights the new administration’s mission to restore opportunity and possibility for all Americans and to rebuild America’s role as a beacon of hope around the globe.
Introduced is a preliminary schedule for the inaugural ceremonies. In keeping with the theme, the schedule is all about public participation.
So far on the calendar:
Sunday, January 18:
Welcome event in Washington during the afternoon. (Open to the public.)
Monday, January 19 - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day:
In honor of the great memory of Dr. King, the President-elect and Vice President-elect and their families, like Americans in communities all across the country, will participate in community service activities in Washington, D.C. area and encourage you to join them.
Tuesday, January 20 - Inauguration Day:
This is day is filled with tradition. The President-elect and Vice President-elect will participate in official inaugural events including the swearing-in ceremony on the West Front of the United States Capitol, a luncheon in the Capitol’s Statuary Hall, the 56th Inaugural Parade, and official Inaugural Balls. More details on these events will be released soon.
Wednesday, January 21:
The newly inaugurated President and Vice President of the United States will participate in a prayer service.
Did You Know? The President Inaugural Committee is offering a $50,000 package to his top donors that includes, among other goodies, four tickets to “inaugural events.” Those events include, according to an Obama official, the swearing-in ceremony. Fund-raising packages like this are common. In fact, in 2005, many Bush donors complained about the high price tags for inaugural festivities. A range of offers were available then, with combinations ranging from $2,500 per person to $250,000 for multiple tickets to multiple events. The $250,000 packages in 2005 were generally targeted at corporations, but Mr. Obama has vowed not to take money from corporations, unions or lobbyists. His $50,000 figure is the most any individual can donate, according to the committee’s self-imposed rules, and the Obama camp has gone to unusual lengths to make the ceremony accessible to as many as possible, including opening up the entire National Mall to spectators. Still, the pitch is circulating amid Congressional efforts to keep individuals from selling their tickets. (Ms. Feinstein said she would tweak her bill to satisfy technical concerns and reintroduce it.) Linda Douglass, a spokeswoman for Mr. Obama’s inaugural committee, noted that the event is privately financed, and said that major donors “that are funding this inauguration will be entitled to participate in inaugural events.” She added, “We are designing events to celebrate that message of American unity and common values, and these are the folks who are paying for it” and “making it possible for us to stage these events.
