Look what God has done and look where He has brought you from. Begin to bless God and praise Him for all that He has done, and for making you so beautiful! He had you in His precious hands all the time. Your life is orchestrated by Him. He knows you and what is best for you. Believe that He has even greater things in store for you and your family. 娸娸 has been so self-obsessed for the last few weeks, crying (actually more like wailing) when nobody was home; hugging me so tightly that i almost choked; stuffing her food into my bowl when nobody was looking (do you think i will eat leftovers?! i'm a labrador, for christ's sake!) and you know, just blogging and blogging and blogging about herself, not giving me a chance to update you on hmm...yeah, me.

Nothing is more upsetting than when a dude you know is into you pulls the plug. One man gets to the bottom of out-of-the-blue breakups.
By Cosmopolitan
The Timing Is Off
Chances are, you've had at least one breakup that left you wondering, "What just happened?" The guy dug you, you dug him, and the whole thing felt destined for a fabulous future -- at least the foreseeable one.
Then, out of nowhere, he bailed on the relationship.
So what went wrong?
The sad dating truth is, maybe n o t h i n g.
Here are five completely ridiculous reasons guys kick you to the curb.
Warning: For the most part, it ain't pretty.
Single women get serious when they meet the right man.
Single men get serious with whomever we happen to be dating when we're finally ready to settle down. That means after every other aspect of our life is in order -- whether it's finishing grad school, finally pulling down a good-size paycheck, owning a car outright -- or when our friends start dropping like flies (that's guyspeak for getting married).
But if you catch a guy before he hits that magical stage of his life, then he's liable to bolt -- like Patrick, 28, who dumped Bridgett after two years, then got engaged to the next girl he dated after only 10 months. "When I was with Bridgett, all of my friends were single and I was still an intern with nothing going on in my career. So every time she'd bring up our future together, it felt like she was jumping the gun," he says. "I didn't break up with her because she was wrong for me. I ended it because I didn't want to commit to anyone right then. But by the time I met Elizabeth, I was in a settling-down frame of mind."
We're Not Finished Playing the Field
Single men are natural-born one-uppers.
If there's a possibility of upgrading what we already have for something better (that'll make our friends drool), we say, bring it on!
So we wind up always wondering if you're really as good as it gets. (I know, scumbag mentality.)
"Whenever I meet a new attractive woman, I consider what it would be like to date her, even if I have a girlfriend at the time," says Andy, 30.
"The grass is always greener. No matter how great his current girl is, a guy doesn't want to feel like he's missing out."
In addition to our opportunistic tendencies, most guys feel compelled to put as many relationship conquests under their belts as possible.
"I admit it -- I know the exact number of girls I've dated, no mental calculation required," says Dan, 29.
"That's how aware I am of how many notches I have. And I'd never commit until I felt like I'd experienced enough different women."
Every guy's definition of enough is different, so there's a chance he wrote you off just because you didn't come late enough on his own personal hit list.
The moral of the story: Until we grow up, mark everything off our checklists or have too many friends convince us that we can't do better than you, the flight risk is real.
We're Fixated on the Worst-Case Scenario
From the times you chastise us for leaving a wet towel on the bed to those nights you rip through a pint of fudge ripple without stopping to breathe, we file each incident in a mental folder labeled "Evidence She'll Change for the Worse."
We flip through that file whenever we're trying to decide if we want to hang on to the relationship.
Blame our married friends who took the plunge before us, but many single men are hyperaware of what could go wrong down the road.
Even if we're crazy about you now, we panic that you'll pack on the pounds and nag us day and night.
So we secretly flag certain things that might be a harbinger of bad things to come. "I've seen it happen to too many of my friends," says Elliot, 29. "All they do is complain about how the romance takes a total nosedive after they get serious with a girl. So sometimes, even if the woman I'm dating is gorgeous, I freak out and bail."
We're in Like, Not in Love
It's harsh but true. In fact, it's probably the most common reason we bolt.
Just because a guy likes you a lot isn't a guarantee that it will evolve into love.
And we're surprisingly intuitive when it comes to figuring out a girl's potential on this front.
"I stayed with one woman for two years because we had fun together and she never pushed the issue, but I knew the minute I met her that she wasn't The One," says David, 30.
So why do we invest any time in a relationship that we know will ultimately end?
Because we're able to live in the moment for a while and chalk it up to a good experience.
But once you show that you're way more into us than we are into you, we'll dump you out of guilt.
"I dated this girl for about a year, but as soon as she started using the L word, I had to end it," recalls Jay, 29. "It was hard. I cared about her and didn't want to hurt her. But I knew that if I stuck around, she'd have been happier at first but miserable later on. After all, she deserved to be with someone who loved her as much as she loved me."
We're Too into You
Just when you thought it was all bad news, here's a hard-to-fess-up admission: Guys are protective of their emotions. Translation: We're scared of being hurt.
So, if we start to feel like we're getting into a situation where we'll be destroyed if you dump us, we might launch a preemptive strike and yank the plug first.
For Gary, 27, showing his girlfriend of two years the exit felt like the only choice. "She was the first girl I was serious with, and I didn't like letting someone have that much power over me. I was starting to feel emotionally needy, and that was uncomfortable for me," he recalls. "So I ditched her to save myself!"
Sounds crazy, but cut us some slack. Think about how vulnerable and paranoid you feel when you're nuts about a guy, and realize that we go through the same thing with girls we really like. But our friends aren't as good at helping us get over an ex as yours are, plus being openly heartbroken makes us look like wusses.
Nope, it's better to act like a winner before you turn us into a loser, which is when our natural self-preservation may come into play. Before the real humiliation and pain assail us like a plague, ending the relationship seems like a good option.
Are You About to Be Jilted?
His cell phone is always off. He might be spending time with someone he doesn't want you to know about... or he just doesn't want to make himself available.
He's reluctant to make plans. If he hems and haws about committing to anything -- even if it's in the semi-near future -- he's thinking about making a break for it.
He's meaner. The passive-aggressive breakup is a guy standby. Some men intentionally turn into whiners to make sure you break up with them.
He's distant. He doesn't want to feel connected to you -- or he's getting his needs filled somewhere else.

i am so very thankful that i live in canada instead of the us.
i do not know how people manage family illness and the worry and stress along with debating if they can afford to get the appropriate help.
the success, wealth and might of a country should be first spent protecting its people, shouldn't it? if not to protect their health and wellness, what is left? if they are too poor, ill or stressed to enjoy life, what is the value of living in that country?
i spent sunday morning taking my pops to the hospital. the wee momma went with him. i dropped them off around 9ish. they called that they were ready to come home around 1:30pm. l'il bit asked if i could take her to get poppa's prescriptions filled. after they she rested for a bit off we went. we were back home my 4pm and by 7pm i was taking them back to emergency.
my momma had tears in her eyes. poppa was scared. both thought poppa would be admitted. poppa was having even having those dark thoughts about his own longevity. my momma is almost 76. poppa will be 72 in december. in january, they will have been married for 47 years. they are a matched pair. the one time they fall apart is when the other is not well.
in all of this stress, they did not ever have to ask how much the prescription was -- could they afford it? they have no idea what the cost is. they just know the doctor prescribed it and it would help my pops. they are both seniors -- in their 70s. they pay $100 per and then only $2 per perscription. no stress no worry.
i dropped them at emerg at 7:30pm. the hospital staff was pleasant and friendly. i knew they would take care of my two loved ones. pops was in his own exam room, relaxing in a bed with in an hour and a half -- the staff apologized that they were extremely busy that night -- the weather was horrid -- hail, sleet, rain and high winds. my brother broke the one visitor in emerg rule as he snuck in with a framed photo of my nephews for my dad in case he was admitted. bro got their around 12:30am -- he was to leave on a 6 am flight for business. they took blood, hooked him up to monitors, ran tests and kept an eye on my pops. finally at nearly 1:45am my bro called that they were both ready to come home, or would be by the time i got there. i got my keys, put the leash on the bug and we headed out. even the bug had been unsettled -- lying at the top of the stairs waiting for his grammer and pops the whole time they were gone.
we pulled up as my brother was pulling out to head home, rest and then head to the airport. the bug wiggled and welcomed his people back. we headed home. everyone settled in for a good nights sleep. tomorrow would come soon enough and the prescriptions would be filled then.
i know that there were people elsewhere in the world who probably had a similar day. i wonder how you deal with all of these worries and thoughts if you also have limited funds to feed your family, keep a roof over their heads, keep the heat working in winter and also do not have a medical system like we do.
pops has had several stress tests, mri's, cat scans and several blood tests, doctor's visits, specialist's appointments, emergency visits and at least one overnight hospital stay and will never see a bill for any of it. he can instead focus on his health.
thanks canada. thanks for caring about us, your people, and doing your best to help us. thank you especially for taking care of my poppa this weekend.
storm
ps. i received this little passage this morning. seemed to relate to my weekend.
a great dog story
anyone who has pets will really like this. you'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!
mary and her husband jim had a dog named 'lucky.' lucky was a real character. whenever mary and jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.
mary or jim would go to lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of lucky's other favorite toys. lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.
it happened that mary found out she had breast cancer. something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact, she was just sure it was fatal.
she scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. the night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with lucky. a thought struck her...what would happen to lucky? although the three-year-old dog liked jim, he was mary's dog through and through. if i die, lucky will be abandoned, mary thought. he won't understand that i didn't want to leave him.
the thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death. the double mastectomy was harder on mary than her doctors had anticipated and mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. jim took lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.
finally the day came for mary to leave the hospital. when she arrived home, mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. lucky stood watching mary but he didn't come to her when she called. it made mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed. when mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. she couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. but panic soon gave way to laughter when mary realized the problem. she was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure lucky owned! while she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. he had covered her with his love.
mary forgot about dying. instead she and lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. it's been 12 years now and mary is still cancer-free. lucky? he still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but mary remains his greatest treasure.
remember....live every day to the fullest. each minute is a blessing from god. and never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. they are the ones that care for us.

i know that there were people elsewhere in the world who probably had a similar day. i wonder how you deal with all of these worries and thoughts if you also have limited funds to feed your family, keep a roof over their heads, keep the heat working in winter and also do not have a medical system like we do.
pops has had several stress tests, mri's, cat scans and several blood tests, doctor's visits, specialist's appointments, emergency visits and at least one overnight hospital stay and will never see a bill for any of it. he can instead focus on his health.
thanks canada. thanks for caring about us, your people, and doing your best to help us. thank you especially for taking care of my poppa this weekend.
storm
ps. i received this little passage this morning. seemed to relate to my weekend.
a great dog story
anyone who has pets will really like this. you'll like it even if you don't and you may even decide you need one!
mary and her husband jim had a dog named 'lucky.' lucky was a real character. whenever mary and jim had company come for a weekend visit they would warn their friends to not leave their luggage open because lucky would help himself to whatever struck his fancy. inevitably, someone would forget and something would come up missing.
mary or jim would go to lucky's toy box in the basement and there the treasure would be, amid all of lucky's other favorite toys. lucky always stashed his finds in his toy box and he was very particular that his toys stay in the box.
it happened that mary found out she had breast cancer. something told her she was going to die of this disease....in fact, she was just sure it was fatal.
she scheduled the double mastectomy, fear riding her shoulders. the night before she was to go to the hospital she cuddled with lucky. a thought struck her...what would happen to lucky? although the three-year-old dog liked jim, he was mary's dog through and through. if i die, lucky will be abandoned, mary thought. he won't understand that i didn't want to leave him.
the thought made her sadder than thinking of her own death. the double mastectomy was harder on mary than her doctors had anticipated and mary was hospitalized for over two weeks. jim took lucky for his evening walk faithfully, but the little dog just drooped, whining and miserable.
finally the day came for mary to leave the hospital. when she arrived home, mary was so exhausted she couldn't even make it up the steps to her bedroom. jim made his wife comfortable on the couch and left her to nap. lucky stood watching mary but he didn't come to her when she called. it made mary sad but sleep soon overcame her and she dozed. when mary woke for a second she couldn't understand what was wrong. she couldn't move her head and her body felt heavy and hot. but panic soon gave way to laughter when mary realized the problem. she was covered, literally blanketed, with every treasure lucky owned! while she had slept, the sorrowing dog had made trip after trip to the basement bringing his beloved mistress all his favorite things in life. he had covered her with his love.
mary forgot about dying. instead she and lucky began living again, walking further and further together every day. it's been 12 years now and mary is still cancer-free. lucky? he still steals treasures and stashes them in his toy box but mary remains his greatest treasure.
remember....live every day to the fullest. each minute is a blessing from god. and never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. they are the ones that care for us.

Local Photographer’s Work on Display at International Exhibition of Professional Photography
A print created by High Point portrait photographer, Erin Arsenault, has recently been accepted into the General Collection of the 117th International Exhibition of Professional Photography. Ms. Arsenault’s work will be on display at the Phoenix Convention Center, January 11-13, 2009, in Phoenix, Ariz. This exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual convention of over 8,600 professional photographers and several photographic associations.
Approximately 4,514 entries were submitted to Professional Photographers of America’s International Print Competition, from which a panel of more than 40 eminent photographers from across the US selected the images that would comprise the 2008 General and Loan Collections…the most prestigious awards.
Titled “Outer Banks,” Arsenault’s entry will be displayed in Phoenix alongside other photographic works from not only PPA’s print competition, but also traveling and special invitational displays. These images constitute the world’s largest annual exhibit of professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof.
This was an article in the High Point Enterprise earlier this month...how exciting!!! I have received so many nice emails about it...thank you!!!

Lovers never
Have time enough
They want to meet
But keep passing each other
In the street
And if they finally
Manage to meet
They dont manage
To tell each other
What is
Most important
When they talk
On the phone
Theres those
Disturbing silences
And sudden interruptions
I try to listen carefully to
What you say
(its so distant) and
Feel happy with the insignificant
Things you say
Thats a symphony
For lovers
Time goes faster
Than all those
People running
I hear a song
From somewhere
A song i had long forgotten
The two lovers try to
Listen to it carefully
The words lovers
Whisper to each other
And the song
Someone is humming
As he walks in the streets
All this gets
Mingled and
Becomes
A symphony
For lovers
Time goes faster
Than all those
People running
The sound of the subway
And a song
I had long forgotten
The two lovers
Are listening carefully
Today
Another couple will
Be formed
Another couple
Will break up
If i ever see you again
Ill tell you
Everything
Can you hear.

Chorus:
Nigga, you need to git up, git out and git somethin
Dont let the days of your life pass by
You need to git up, git out and git somethin
Dont spend all your time tryin to get high
You need git up, git out and git somethin
How will you make it if you never even try
You need to git up, git out and git somethin
Cuz you and i got to do for you and i
[cee-lo]
I dont recall, ever graduatin at all
Sometimes i feel im just a disappointment to yall
Every day, i just lay around then i cant be found
Always asked to give me some livin life like a bum
Times is rough, my auntie got enough problems of her own
Nigga, you supposed to be grown
I agree, i try to be the man im posed to be
But negativity is all you seem to ever see
I admit, ive done some dumb shit
And im probably gon do some mo
You shouldnt hold that against me though (why not?)
Why not? my musics all that i got
But some time must be ingested for this to be manifested
I know you know but im gon say this to you i
Get high but i dont get too high
So whats the limit posed to be?
That must be why you cant get your ass up out the bed before three
You need to git up, git out, cut that bullshit out
Aint you sick and tired of having to do without
And what up with all these questions?
As act as though you know somethin i dont. do you have any suggestions?
Cuz every job i get is cruel and demeanin
Sick of takin trash out and toilet bowl cleanin
But im also sick and tired of strugglin
I never ever thought id have resort to drug smugglin
Naw, that aint what im about
Cee-lo will just continue travelin this route
Without any doubt or fear
I know the lord aint brought me this far so he could drop me off here
Did i make myself clear?
Chorus:
[big boi]
Well, uh, git up, stand up. so whats said, you dickhead
See when i was a youngsta, used to wear them fuckin pro keds
My mama made me do it, but the devil, he made me smart
Told me to jack them weak ass niggaz for they fuckin starters
In the middle school, i was a bigger fool
I wore with tank tops to show off my tattoo, thought i was cool
I used to hang out with my daddys brothers, i call them my uncles
They taught me how to smoke herb, i followed them when they ran numbers
So in a sense i was rosemarys baby
And then, i learned the difference between a bitch and a lady
Hell, i treat em all like hoes, see i pimped em
Bitch never had my money, so i never whipped em
See all the playas came and all the playas went
A playa aint a gangsta but a playa can handle his shit bitch
You need to git up, git out, git somethin
Smoke out, cuz its all about money, money, money
Yeah i said it, a nigga sportin plats and a braves hat
I hang with rico wade cuz the dungeon is where the funks at, boy
Im true to organized, cuz they raised me
Im also down with laface cuz l.a. reid, yeah, he pays me
And its cool
Yeah, its real cool, gettin paid fat pockets
And all that other fat shit like that, ha-ha
Chorus:
[big gipp]
Alot of people in my past tried to do me, screw me
Throw me over in the fire, let me get chunky and charred
Like a piece of wood and dem spirits got the mutants mind
Im gettin paranoid and steady lookin for the time
Its eight in the mornin and aint nobody up yet
I got my long johns, get my coat and throw on my ball cap
Im headed out the door, to get off in my ride
Im diggin through the ash tray, hopin to have a good day
I had jamaicas best and when i light it up, i hear a voice in my head
(you got to git up, git out and git somethin)
Now i know its on, my day is finally started
Back up in my crib, eat my shit, break out quick, in my slick
84 se-dan deville, steady bouncin,
Out the pointe to cambelton road
The valley of the southside flow
Everybody know about that killa that we call blow, so
Keep your eyes peeled for the cover unit
Cause they known for jumpin out of black chevy trucks and through the fog
Here come the red dogs, im bustin out around the corner in my hog
Dippin from the area, im scared
So one of these bitches might wind up dead
Cuz i have no time for bail. fuck clampett cops. fuck elgin bail
And crooked ass jackson, got the whole country
Thinkin that my city is the big lick for 96
94, big gipp, goodie mo, outkast, a vision from the past
Hootie hoomy white owls are burnin kinda slow
Chorus:
[dre]
Yall tellin me that i need to get out and vote, huh. why?
Aint nobody black runnin but crackers, so, why i got to register?
I thinkin of better shit to do with my time
Never smelled aroma of diploma, but i write the deep ass rhymes
So let me take ya way, back to when a nigga stayed in southwest atlanta,
Yall could not tell me nuthin, thought i hit that bottom rock
At age 13, start workin at the loadin dock
They layin my mama off of work, general motors trippin
But i come home bank like hank, from lickin and dippin
Doin dumb shit, not knowin what a nigga know now
Yeah, that petty shit will have you cased up and locked down
I dips, over to east point, still actin a fool
Wastin my time in the school, id rather be shootin pool
Cool is how i played the tenth grade
I thought it was all about mackin hoes and wearin pimp fade
Instead of bein in class, id rather be up in some ass
Not, thinkin about them six courses that i need to pass
Graduation rolled around like rolly-pollies
Damn, thats fucked up.

Henna has some undeniable benefits for hair, which is why so many people use it and love it.
Some of these pros include:
Stronger Hair - The lawsone (dye) molecule goes into the hair it penetrates the hair shaft some, binding with the keratin in the hair. This makes hair stronger, but also is one of the qualities that makes henna removal near impossible. Henna also coats the hair and fills in rough spots on a frayed cuticle. This adds a second layer of strength, but it DOES NOT lock out moisture.
Smoother, Shinier Hair - Henna, as stated above, does coat the hair, but it is a permeable coating that does not lock moisture out. The henna helps fill in rough spots on the cuticle. With the cuticle rough edges smoothed over the hair feels smoother and the cuticle takes a lot less damage during combing and manipulation. It takes several days for Henna to stabilize. It becomes more flexible and durable as it oxidizes and cures--it is in fact a plant resin that is flexible and solvent enough to penetrate the hair at the cuticle, carrying pigment with it.
Non-Fading Red - Anyone that has used red chemicals dyes knows how badly they fade. Henna may fade a little after the first application, but after the second application fades very little.
The Absence of Chemicals - Chemical dyes are not only VERY damaging to hair, they can also cause scalp burns, allergic reactions, and recently studies have linked long term use to cancer.
While there are benefits, there are also some drawbacks:
Ease (or lack thereof) of Application - Henna can be hard to apply evenly on your own, can be a huge mess, and is tiring on the arms and neck. It also has to be left on for a longer time than commercial chemical dyes, so more time has to be slated for the process.
Experimentation - To find your ideal mix, dye release time, application time, rinsing method, etc. all require some experimentation. It is not out-of-a-box color, and it make take some tweaking to find your ideal results. Your perfect color is never a guarantee.
Dry Hair - Some people report dry hair after using henna. See the Troubleshooting Section for information on what may be causing this, and how to combat it.
These may be pros for some, cons for others:
Loss/Reduction in Curl - Many users of henna report a loss of curl. This is by no means a universal effect, and should be neither discounted, nor counted on. It seems that wavies are the most susceptible to this, though some curlies are as well.
Cannot Lighten Hair - Henna cannot lighten your hair, ever. On some colors of hair it may appear to brighten it, but you should count on any color you get with henna being darker than what is already on your head.
Darkening with Multiple Applications - Henna will darken with multiple applications. If one wants to keep a lighter color, only the roots should be touched up, and repeated whole-head applications will progressively make the color less orange and more burgundy.
Cost - Depending on your mix, how much hair you have and how often you henna, it may either be more or less expensive than chemical dyes. Though that doesnt factor in one very important thing the price your hair pays on chemical dyes. Many people find that they only need to do a full-length application one or two times, and the because henna doesn't fade much, they can save a lot of cost by only redoing the roots.
The Smell - Some people love it, some people hate it, but the smell of henna lingers in your hair for awhile after the application, often reviving when your hair is wet. Some herbs, such as ginger, can be added to shift the smell of the mix, but nothing will eliminate it entirely. Most people feel it has a smell somewhat like grass or hay.
Variable Color - Henna can and does shift in color depending on the light the hennaed hair is placed in. The same head of hair can go from burgendy to firey copper, just depending on the light.
Where do other henna colors come from?
Go to any local health food store and youll see boxes and boxes of hair coloring products claiming to be 100% henna. Well, we know that henna only comes in red, so what gives with all the shades of brown and blonde and black? Many natural hair colors are a blend of henna, cassia, indigo, and other color enhancing herbs. Beware, though. Many henna dyes contain things other than herbs, that can SERIOUSLY damage your hair.
What is Neutral Henna (Cassia Obovata)?
Cassia Obovata is often referred to as neutral henna. It is not henna and it does not alter the color of hair greatly, though it may give more golden tones with repeated applications. It has similar conditioning benefits as henna, but they are not permanent, and they disappear without reapplication.
What is Black Henna?
Indigo is commonly referred to as black henna. It does not produce a black dye, but instead produced a blue (indigo) dye. Indigo releases its dye immediately and it demises VERY fast. If using indigo in a mix, start by preparing the henna and allowing dye release. Then prepare the indigo and immediately mix it with the henna and apply it to the hair. Indigo dye does not last long, and demises quickly. For a two step application indigo is applied after henna has been rinsed from the hair. Be warned that on some people the indigo will fade to varying degrees, leaving the henna to show through. If you are not comfortable with some red be wary of using indigo and henna to achieve brown or black. Warning: Some people will sell black henna which may or not contain henna, but contains lots of a chemical called PPD. PPD has been known to have horrible reactions to some peoples skin.

What I have done is in red: There are a lot of these I've never done, but I would LOVE to do! :)
Bought everyone in the bar a drink
Swam with wild dolphin
Taken a Ferrari for a test drive
Been inside a Pyramid
Held a tarantula
Taken a candle lit bath
Said I love you and meant it
Hugged a Tree
Bungee jumped
Visited Paris
Watched a lightening storm at sea
Stayed up all night long and saw the sun rise
Seen the Northern Lights
Gone to a huge sports game
Walked the stairs to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa
Grown and eaten your own vegetables
Touched an iceberg
Slept under the stars
Changed a babys diaper
Taken a trip in a hot air balloon
Watched a meteor shower
Gotten drunk on champagne
Given more than you can afford to charity
Looked up at the night sky through a telescope
Had an uncontrollable giggling fit at the worst possible moment
Had a food fight
Bet on a winning horse
Asked out a stranger
Had a snowball fight
Screamed as loudly as you possibly can
Held a lamb
Seen a total eclipse
Ridden a rollercoaster

i wrote this post a while ago but left it as draft. i wrote it for me. i needed to talk.
i thought it was too dark to put on my blog. so i did not.
i was out with a good friend last night. she is someone everyone thinks is uber confident but inside she has lots of pain, too.
she is smart, beautiful, sensitive and full of great potential. she only needs to believe in herself.
i decided to share this post because as dark as i was feeling at the time, i no longer feel that way today. as lou would have said to me then, "everything works out in the end". and it did. it took me a couple of days, but i worked my way past the depression. i walked the bug, daily -- even though i did not want to. as you know, i find walks very healing and rewarding. someone said they consider it their meditation time....i understand.
if you read on, know that this is not the same head space or heart space i am in today. i felt it important to share because i think it allows for hope -- to know if you are feeling this way too, it does get better. it did for me.
storm
i do not know what to do.
i am overwhelmed with feeling of hopelessness
or worthlessness
i am lonely
i am sad
i am ugly
i hurt
i am tired
sometimes i think i am going crazy
i want to vanish, just fade to gone.
boss keeps me here in some ways.
i do love the little guy
i believe he loves me
i do not want to leave him
i have no idea who would take him in and care for him
y'see his first father didn't want him anymore
he became superfluous, not worth the effort to love and care for
if i weren't here, i can't think of who would walk him everyday, keep him from being spoiled.
it would be too easy to just give him treat after treat after treat
i can't think of who would take him to the dog park to play with any frequency.
i try to climb out of these feelings but it is difficult.
i try to think of positives
to be thankful
i have so much more than so many
i know that
i am smart
i know that reality and this darkness are not synonymous
still i am tired of the pain, the pain and the darkness
i need light
i am not sure how much longer i can go on
it is as though i am trying to scream for help but i cannot make a sound
i do not know how to get people to hear me
i said i am smart
i am tired of being smart
i just want it all to stop.
even as i read these words, i cannot share them with others
i worry too much that they would be uncomfortable for others to read
i can't deal with that right now -- the awkwardness the avoidance
i should talk to the doctor i think -- i do not like pills. i can't afford them in any event.
i shrink from the shame. the shame of people knowing how i feel
none of it is good.

I had a conversation today while at our playgroup that has gotten me thinking. Two other moms were talking about when to move your baby into their own bed. 2 months, 3 months, 6 months? They asked when I moved Eva into her own bed and I told them she slept in her crib in her own room since the first night she was at home. Both mothers were surprised. Mom 1 said, "Oh, well don't "they" say that you should wait until your baby is a little older to do that?" I just shrugged my shoulders and told them that it worked for me and that I was not what you would call a "by-the-book" mom. Mom 2 asked why, and I told her that I like to do things a little differently and that the "rules" of when to do things with your child were more like guidelines anyway, at least to me. Some of these so called rules have changed even since I had my first child 2 years ago. I admit that there are some rules that I do follow, but more often than not, I just do what works for me. I gave Wyatt cow's milk, and yogurt before he was 12 months. We also gave him rice cereal before he was 4 months, and to boot we gave it to him in a bottle. When he stared to suck on his fingers a little too much for me (I was a thumbsucker for more years than I like to admit) we would rub hand sanitizer all over his hands so that his fingers would taste bad. Does this make me a bad mother? Both of my children are tummy sleepers, and I do not force them to sleep on their backs. Eva is 4 1/2 months old and has already tasted chocolate and ice cream. Does this make me a bad mother? I don't take my kids to all of the recommended check-ups, I only take them when they are getting shots. We also put Wyatt into a forward facing car seat before he was 12 months. He's a big kid and so he grew out of his infant seat at about 7 months. Instead of buying a transitional car seat we purchased the normal forward-facing seat that they aren't supposed to be in until they are 12 months. He was so much happier being able to see everything! I'm not trying to say that I'm reckless, just that I don't always feel the need to do things because someone with a degree told me that I should. Anyway, this is what's been on my mind today.
