Escape Chestnut Room walkthrough:

1. Turn twice and get the shotgun. Turn left and shoot the nail holding the hippo picture to reveal the 1st safe.
Click somewhere other than the middle part to zoom in. (If you click on the middle part, youll zoom in, but the puzzle will be started wherever you clicked.) Solve the puzzle to open the safe.
Object: touch every green square with a continuous, non-intersecting path. Steps: A. Choose a starting square. B. Choose a free direction to move. Youll keep moving in that direction until you hit something (a wall, a block, or a previous piece of path). C. Repeat step B until done.
To reset the puzzle if you mess up, zoom out, turn right, and move the antlers until the puzzle resets. (There isnt a particular position; you just have to move em a whole bunch of times.)

2. Get the chainsaw from the safe. Now you can start collecting metal pieces for it. You only have a dozen slots in your inventory, so youll need to periodically stop to put them on the saw (double-click the saw in your inventory, then click a tooth, then the sawblade).

3. Easy dozen metal pieces dont have to do anything besides find it and click on it (1-12): top left of doorframe, bottom drawer, plant, left of fireplace (click at/near bottom left edge of bottom stone to zoom in), bottom middle of table trestle, right edge of tabletop, two front teeth of stuffed sable, on floor left of toilet, in toilet tank, on corner next to sink, and on floor to the right of the sink (click just to the right of the toekick to zoom in).

4. Get the note from the door and put it in the fireplace. Get the two logs. Choose one and click on the elephants left tusk until the log either throws itself in the corner (in which case, repeat with other log), or the log splits itself into firewood and goes in the fireplace. Shoot the wood with the shotgun to start a fire. Eventually the elephant will raise the end of his trunk. Get the key from one nostril, and the metal piece (13) from the other.

5. Get the carrot from in front of the guys foot in the hippo picture. Give it to the rabbit thats flipping off the hunter (in another picture). Get the magnet.
Get the toilet paper (next to toilet) and the crowbar (from the safe). In the frog picture, click the cranes legs with the TP until theyre tied up and he drops the fishing pole. Click the frog with the crowbar so he jumps in and pushes the pole closer to shore. Repeat until you can pick up the fishing pole.
Double-click the fishing pole and attach the magnet.
Open the toilet lid; a metal piece (14) splashes in. Use the fishing pole to retrieve it. You can put the pole back in the picture now; you shouldnt be needing it.


6. Get the wrench from the safe. Go to the tree picture and put the wrench in the tree. Get the apple, and the metal piece (15) from under the now-bawling bunnys tongue.
Put the apple in front of the mouse hole. Get the two metal pieces (16, 17).

7. Get the hammer from the safe. Click the bears head so he raises it, then use the hammer to knock out his teeth. Pick up four metal pieces in this view (ones in the bottom leftmost corner of the screen, below the hand in your inventory; 18-21). Get five more from the bathroom view (22-26).

8. Get the toilet brush. Click the hippos belly so he opens his mouth, then use the brush on his teeth. Get a metal piece (27) from his hand, and another (28) from the butt of the hunters gun.

9. Click the plant pot to put it on the ground. Use the crowbar around the left bottom edge of the cabinet to topple it and reveal the second safe. Get the key if you havent already (see step 4).
The code changes each game, and involves recognizing animal tracks in the booklet from the top drawer, to go with the animals that are not crossed out in the note from the table. The note gives the order of digits, and the figure number of the corresponding tracks gives the digit. Youll need to do some Googling. One useful site:

Once youve entered the code, zoom out and use the key. (If the safe doesnt open, you got the code wrong.) Get the 29th and last metal piece.

11. If you have all the teeth, pushing the button on the chainsaw should turn it on. If it doesnt, you missed something.
Use the saw on the door until youve carved the entire phrase here I come! (with exclamation point), then click the door and youre out.

Note: except for the first and last step, the tasks are mostly independent. (Theres one thing from step 4 that you need for step 9.) You may want to do step 9 sooner.

For those of you who remember Watergate, John Dean, the Presidents counsel, famously warned President Nixon about Watergate, describing it as, quote, a cancer on the Presidency. That is a pretty good phrase to describe our economic mess.

If you got the sniffles, you can take an antihistamine. A few antibiotics can cure an ear infection. But cancer requires surgery, and maybe chemo and radiation.

Last week in the New York Times, Thomas Friedman wrote, Right now there is something deeply dysfunctional, bordering on scandalously irresponsible, in the fractious way our political elite are behavingwith business as usual in the most unusual economic moment of our lifetimes. They dont seem to understand: Our financial system is imperiled. And, quoting Yale professor Jeffrey Garten, Friedman argued that its better to overestimate the danger and act accordingly than to underestimate.

Hes right. So I have a radical proposal: surgery followed by chemo.

Let us remember that one of the great concepts of the Reformation was the Rule of Law. No office holder is above it. So as for the surgery, Id start maybe impeaching or indicting some of the officials who pontificate day after day on television about the terrible crisisbut theyre the same ones who helped bring it about. From those who put their pals in charge of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and then forced those agencies to make loans they knew couldnt be repaid; to those regulators at the Office of Thrift Supervision who ignored the signs of catastrophe while the likes of Countrywide Financial, IndyMac, and Washington Mutual went down.

As one former Republican lawmaker told the Washington Post last week, the regulatory motif at OTS was too accommodating to private-sector interests. The result was chaos!

As for Wall Street, the surgery would include curbing the excess compensation so many of those officials got, and even indicting some of the irresponsible ones who negligently promoted instruments they knew had to fail. In the old days, wed have called that fraud.

And dont continue bail-outs to the irresponsible. Let the bankruptcy courts reorganize mismanaged companies. The reorganization would get rid of the all the labor feather-bedding and corporate excesses, particularly in the three big auto makers.

The chemo and radiation part is harder. It means injecting into the bloodstream of the nation a sense of ethics. Its not taught in business schools; its not taught in high schools. We have lost our understanding of right and wrong. All that matters anymore is the financial bottom line and self satisfaction.

So this is where Christians can truly make a difference, as I have written this month in Christianity Today. The financial meltdown is more a crisis of character than a crisis of finances. Historically, our ethical system has come from Judeo-Christian revelation. Weve got to start bringing it back into society. There is simply no other way.

Surgery, chemo and radiation are long processes. When my son went through it a while ago, it took a year. But the point is, until the cancer is destroyed, the body cannot be healthy.

To postpone it will only postpone the inevitable and perhaps merely succeed in allowing the patient to die painlessly.

This nation deserves better.

The older I get, the more I weep. I suppose it's because I'm much more cognizant of what I've got to lose, how terribly fragile it all is, this gossamer web of connection and life. I think I've said before how much I adore Rob Inglis' reading of The Lord of the Rings. What I may not have mentioned is that I listen to it more than I listen to anything else. It's sort of a comforting noise that is always happening in my office, and I know it so well I don't have to listen with all my attention but can do so at will and know exactly where in the story we happen to be. But sometimes, especially when Inglis sings, I am rapt again, mesmerized. Today I'm waiting for Anita's airplane to land, and as I was looking at the flight tracker, Inglis sang this and time stopped:

I am so delighted, I got my first email question. I received an email from pinkjellybaby
I'm a shorty (5ft2) and pretty curvy. I'm not quite an hourglass but i guess that's the closest description. So, I have arse, and tummy but a small waist and decent boobs. My question is: With this kind of figure, can you wear tight, form fitting dresses? Is it hot to show off curves or is it just a bit silly?

When I took time off modelling 5 years ago and worked in music telly, I gained weight and I was a size 12. For someone who have been a size 4 it was quite a difference. I was so self conscious of my hips and ass, so I know how uncomfortable it feels to wear something tight in the beginning.
Its something you need to get over.
When curvy women hide their figure behind layers, makes them look like a bag of potatoes.
The thing most curvy women do wrong when they dress up is hide and draw attention to the wrong area. Like me I would tie scarves around my waist to cover the arse, making me look even worse. You want to concentrate in high waist and not low waist.
I learned how to dress by wearing
Soft, clingy, flowing fabrics
Low to medium-low necklines
Dresses with defined waistlines

If you want to wear a tight fitting dress, which I think is beautiful.
Think open neckline, low v necks, shoulder straps to emphasise the breast and neckline.
Make sure its a tight waist and that it goes in just under the breasts.
A woman with an hourglass figure and a large bosom sometimes tries to hide the fact that she does, in fact, have a large bosom. However, when one wears the proper bra, and the proper type of blouse or top, one can actually seem slimmer and less large.
The dress length should come to your knees in length.
Wear high heels, pumps looks amazing with these tight knee length dresses.

A while ago, after receiving oodles of requests, I promised to write a "Day in the Life of Me" post. One of the main reasons I've postponed publishing this post for so long is that I feel very, very vain in writing it! Since I'm not a celebrity or anything, I feel conceited in writing all about the mundane details of my life. Don't get me wrong; I like reading others' posts about their days... I just feel self-conscious writing one of my own.


But you asked for it, so here she be!

Normally I am not a calorie-counter. But in order to write this post, I spent one full week measuring out and counting everything, so that I could give you an accurate glimpse into my chocolate-covered life. Before embarking on this endeavor, I had it in my head that it'd be fun--ooh, an experiment. Ha! Calorie-counting is anything BUT fun. What a time-consuming CHORE! I don't know how some of y'all do this every day. (It was also pretty hard to remember to look at the clock all the time to see how long my meals were.)

My daily totals averaged around 2600 calories (most was 2850, least was 2375). I can't say that the following accurately sums up what I eat every day (My diet is super-varied, meaning I hardly ever have the exact same meal or snack two days in a row). But it's a good reflection of how I eat every day. Yeah, I guess it takes a lot of food to keep me going... but I'm not complaining. While my poor, dieting friends are eating 1300-calories per day of rice cakes and Slim Fast (*gag*), I get to eat twice that much and not worry about it. And my guy friends think it's hilarious that the vegan is the only one who doesn't always order a salad for dinner when we go out.

Were trying to get stuff sorted through and packed up today. We move in about two weeks, though, we technically have until the 20th to be out of this place. re planning to move to our new home earlier than that. And since this is my last weekend here before the moving weekend, Im trying to get as much done today as it seems. Next weekend I fly up to Northern California for my baby shower. m soexcited. Not only will I get to see my family, but Ill get to see some friends I havent seen in a very long time. Some I havent seen for a year or more. I went to change something on my registry, and was happy to see that the little pack n play we registered for has been purchased. This is a relief, because thats where I was planning to have him sleep for the first couple months so he could be in our room at night. s tempting to want to go back and check and see if anything else has been purchased, but Id also like to be surprised the day of too. s just one more week, so hopefully I can hold out.

Hannah Montana is the latest in a series of Disney original TV shows. The series revolves around a young girl named Miley Stewart. Shes always tried to follow in his footsteps too. At age 11 when she originally auditioned for the Hannah Montana show, she had already worked for years preparing for the part. As a little girl, she appeared as an extra in a number of her dads shows. Then at age 8 she played Ruthie in Big Fish.
But that wasnt enough to make her a shoe-in for a part in Hannah Montana. In fact when she first auditioned for the role of Lilly and then later for the part of Hannah Montana, she was one of 1000 girls trying out. She was turned down by Disney executives for both roles. They told her she was too young.
She didnt let that stop her though. Miley stayed on the big Disney executives. She kept bugging them and wouldnt let up. Finally they granted her a second audition. Either she knocked them dead this time, or they were afraid shed be stalking them if they turned her down again, because they gave her the lead role.
Shes been singing and playing guitar for years too, long before she became Hannah Montana. Shes already written hundreds of songs and released a number of them on three separate albums.
Disney released her first album, The Hannah Montana Soundtrack, in October, 2006. She followed up in June, 2007 with her second album, Hannah Montana 2: meet Miley Cyrus. Then in July, 2008, she released her third album, . All three of her albums debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and have gone on to become huge hits.
The popularity of the Hannah Montana TV show has soared as well. In fact, Hannah Montana is the most watched show on cable for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 14. Thats one of the big reasons behind the huge demand for the Hannah Montana costume this Halloween.
Hannahs popularity has brought in plenty of money, for both Miley and Disney. As a matter-of-fact, Miley was named The Richest Kid in the World by People Magazine. She has also sold over 6.5 million albums and is expected to sell over $1 billion worth of Hannah Montana merchandise, including Hannah Montana costumes.

Shes been featured on the cover of People, CosmoGirl, and a number of other popular magazines, and in July of 2008, People Magazine devoted an entire special issue just to Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Shes also won numerous TV and music awards and has even been asked to host and perform at a number of the award shows.
